Description
Doagh, Downings, Rosguill Peninsula, County Donegal, Ireland
This picturesque little cottage on the fishing hamlet of Dooey is part of the stunning ‘Atlantic Drive’ in north Donegal. One of my favourite drives along Donegal with views that are simply breath-taking to say the least. Towering in the distance 9 miles out to sea can be seen Tory Island.
Like on the day I captured this photograph, I like to stop and look over at this little cottage and wonder… Just imagine living here or maybe staying there even for a weekend at least. I would sit in my back garden each day and gaze over to Tory Island in the distance….. likely dreaming that someday I’ll be possibly sitting in a similar cottage on Tory pondering the very same thing about another cottage elsewhere as I just can’t get enough of these little cottages along our shores which I continually envy. I just want to stay in them all
Some folk love travelling abroad for holidays and some love to staycation holiday here in Ireland. My point being, it’s not as bad as you may think to spend some time travelling around Ireland locally, just as we happily done when we were children growing up here. Remember all those wonderful memories from our beaches, castles and hikes? Memories I will personally never forget and as a result have bonded me much closer to Ireland now in my adult life
