Description
Lagg, Malin Head, Inishowen, County Donegal, Ireland
The view from ‘Knockmany Bends’ overlooking the sand dunes of Lagg & St. Mary’s Parish Church is by far one of the most stunning in Ireland. Built in 1784 ‘St Mary’s’ is one of the oldest churches still being used in Ireland today. This picturesque church & graveyard is nicely placed amongst the highest sand dunes in all of Europe! These dunes were formed around 5000 years ago and now have their own protected & unique ecosystem.
For this photo I wanted to achieve a much higher perspective than the traditional view so I met with a local farmer named John & asked his permission to roam on his land. He was a true gentleman granting me full access & directed me to a hill top with this much higher vantage point over the entire Lagg & Trawbreaga Bay areas. His sheep were also very keen to pose in this photo for “Ewe” all
