Description
Strabane, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland
This is another image from the spectacular solar storm that hit a few weeks ago, however on this scene instead of the tree being a silhouette instead I used a torch to “Light Paint” the tree and make it & the details stand out against the ongoing Aurora in the background
I’ve always had an idea of attempting to capture the Northern Lights over my home town. Normally we are too far south and light pollution etc would make it impossible, but was not the issue this one rare night! I knew the solar winds were striking so I took a chance and captured the Aurora over Strabane town and behind this stunning old tree on the “Lisky Road” It is a very symbolic and recognisable tree to anyone from my home town.
