Errigal Mountain, Dunlewey, County Donegal, Ireland
On a recent walk around Dunlewey lake I came across this scene. Errigal Mountain was the obvious focal point. What had really captured my attention was these little Fairy Trees in the middle of the field. As I was kneeling composing this scene there were 2 local farmers actually hand sheering sheep in a pen next to me. One of the farmers shouts to me “you get ready as when I let go of this sheep, she will jump straight into your photo”
At first I was sceptical & thought he was joking but as soon as he let his grip off the sheep it ran & leapt about 4ft into mid air straight into my scene! Normally you need to lure sheep into a scene or creep up on them but there is that very odd chance when they literally fly into the scene for you as you can see lol
Majestic mountain backdrop, lakes, Stone walls, Fairy trees & leaping sheep……. I honestly don’t think I could capture a more “Irish” looking photo if I try again for the next year!
