Description
Magheroarty Beach, County Donegal, Ireland
Rarely do I manage to capture rainbows in my scenes as they normally appear then disappear so fast in wet conditions. However for this scene a stunning rainbow appeared exactly where I would want it to be so i’m thrilled. There’s certainly gold at the end of this one… golden sands ?
As you can see Magheroarty is easily one of Donegal’s most pristine sandy beaches, which seems to go on as far as the eye can see. Magheroarty Strand has so many small coves & hidden areas. For a beach so large it’s surprisingly very private for anyone visiting even on a busy summer’s day.
Not many beaches in Ireland have 2 sandy shores facing east & west. Magheroarty is placed perfectly, so that on the west is the Atlantic Ocean & on the east is ‘Ballyness Bay’. On this beach you could relax & watch the sun rise over Ballyness Bay. Then enjoy the rest of the day wherever you wish, then in the late evening you could sit & watch the sun set in the west over our Atlantic Ocean. What I wouldn’t give to be there again chasing rainbows….
