Mt Errigal, Dunlewey, Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland
Lost once again on the most narrowest of backroads imaginable in Donegal, searching for this particular area to gain a good angle of Mount Errigal. I stopped and asked an elderly gentleman who standing in a field for directions & he told me to “keep driving along till ye see the bearded road on the right” ok i’ve had some funny directions given to me throughout my travels around ireland but “The bearded road” was certainly the one that got me completely puzzled?
After around a mile or so I looked to my right and this was the actual scene before me! I then realised what he meant by “bearded road” it was a name he had personally given roads with tall grass growing on the centre of them due to lack of use! Lol I will never forget his directions or look at a grassy road the same way again without smiling
