Description
Murder Hole Beach, Melmore Head, Rosguill Peninsula, Downings, County Donegal, Ireland
On each visit to this stunning beach, I usually plan for stormy seas in attempt to capture large waves to show the sheer raw power of the Atlantic Ocean. However, on this day the ocean was as calm as I’ve ever witnessed it with barely a wave to be seen. All was so quiet that sounds could be easily heard from over a mile away.
I captured this photo and to my astonishment I believe the soft light, pastel colours and tones of both sea & land looked as I’ve never seen them before. Everything seemed very soothing and relaxed compared to previous stormy images captured here which gave off a more powerful vibe. It’s fascinating how much the motions of the sea can transform our perspectives on the actual landscapes around us
