Description
Muckross Peninsula, Kilcar, County Donegal, Ireland
One of the finest times to capture a landscape photograph, is during sunset as soon as the sun touches the horizon line. It beams out soft rays of warm coloured light which gently illuminates the lush green grass and turns brown heather to gold for a mere moment in time.
Muckross Head is idyllically placed to take advantage of these side lit sunset displays. Diffused light dances across each grassy bump on the land, illuminating one side and casting a subtle shadow on the opposing side. This creates a three-dimensional look to the scene, giving it more depth & dimension than can be seen during other times of the day.
I look at this photograph and retrace my memories from that evening, walking along this winding road downwards towards the stunning “beach of the noise” below. I can’t wait to return and experience it in person once more……
