The hauntingly beautiful Desertgertney or “Linsfort Church” is situated on a hillside overlooking Lough Swilly along the Wild Atlantic Way & is perfectly hidden away from the modern world. This Church of Ireland dates from the 1650’s but unfortunately was closed forever in 1972.
Nowadays it lays in ruin with the cemetery overgrown. Regardless of its earthly state, one can’t help but fall in love with the sheer beauty of this secluded place of worship & rest. When standing here you can still feel the presence of the Holy Spirit on these eternal sacred grounds….
