Description
The Foyle Bridge in Derry Londonderry, Northern Ireland, UK
Ive always wanted to capture a good clean image of this amazing bridge from this underside angle, it may not seem so impressive to alot of people from larger city’s throughout the world, but for myself & local residents it is still one of the most impressive structures in all Northern Ireland. A great piece of architectural engineering that is today just as impressive as it was 30 years ago
This suspended bridge structure including the approach spans is also the longest in Ireland at 866 metres (2839 ft)
It crosses the River Foyle to the north of the city, and forms only the second of three bridges linking the city centre to the Waterside, the others being the Craigavon Bridge and the Peace Bridge walkway. Work on the bridge began in 1980 and it opened in October 1984.
