The Atlantic Drive, Rosguill Peninsula, Downings, County Donegal, Ireland
On the ‘Atlantic Drive’ between Tranarossan & Downing’s can be found one of my favourite views in Donegal. This beautiful little beach is surrounded by a green valley which gently rolls onto the white sandy shore below. In the Backdrop can be seen the turquoise waters of Tra Na Rossan Beach, also watched over by its very own gigantic guardian hill.
During this warm summer’s day, the cows alongside their baby calves had retreated from their higher pastures to down near the shoreline. Possibly to catch the gentle cool breeze blowing off the ocean’s surface and for a little graze on some wild plants for a change. They were loving every moment on this hillside whilst their calves enjoyed a long nap in the warm sun 🐮
