Description
Ballyness Bay, Falcarragh overlooking Magheraroarty Sand Dunes, County Donegal, Ireland
This scene instantly captured my imagination when I first laid eyes on it. I agree it may not seem the most exciting place as it has no striking focal point of interest nor has it any amazing cloud formations & it’s not a sunset scene filled with colour. This is fine with me as it was initially the natural simplicity & sense of total isolation that drove me to capture this photo.
I love the natural patterns of flowing sand on these peaceful dunes & the texture of the wild grasses all gently blowing about on the Atlantic sea breeze. I was standing 2 miles away from these sandy dunes when I captured this photo, yet at the time I felt like swimming over just to stand & be amongst it all…… if this makes any sense & you sorta know what I mean?
