Lagg, Malin Head, Inishowen, County Donegal, Ireland
Built in 1784, St Mary’s is one of the oldest churches still being used in Ireland today. This picturesque church & graveyard is nicely placed amongst the highest sand dunes in all of Europe! These dunes were formed around 5000 years ago and now have their own protected & unique ecosystem.
When standing up here looking over all of Lagg you can clearly see that other than the little church & a few small roads, this whole area has remained unchanged since the last ice age. This is a trait that continues throughout all of the stunning Wild Inishowen
