Ballymagorry, Strabane, County Tyrone overlooking County Donegal, Ireland
It’s that time of year again, in which I normally drive around the countryside just before sunset each evening. With my eyes peeled, window fully down and the radio off so that I can carefully listen for that distinctive “hummmmm” sound in the distance that normally means only one thing….. Tractors working the fields during sunset!
It’s exciting to hear a tractor or maybe a combine harvester as I don’t know what type of machine it is from ground level. Normally their spraying lime, cutting barley, ploughing or like in my photo grass cutting. This farmer is cutting this lush end of summer grass and lining it into these tidy rows ready to be harvested to feed the cattle over the colder barren months ahead.
No matter what job these farmers are doing in their fields during anytime of year, it’s always very important to keep farm animals and ourselves well fed which is greatly appreciated
As a double bonus it’s fascinating to watch these machines work the farm and I love adding these into my landscape photography especially when captured during beautiful sunsets
