Description
Blue Stack Mountains, County Donegal, Ireland
Behold a view from the top of the “Tawnawully Mountains” overlooking “Lough Amincheen” & “Lough Fad” in the foreground. The larger Lake in the background is “Lough Eske” & “Donegal Bay” can be seen in the far distance. All these lakes, hills & mountains are part of the “Bluestack Way” which travels along the “Bluestacks” across the south west of Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way
This is an area of natural beauty which is so pristine & untouched for miles upon miles. Looking around here I can easily believe that there are rocks & objects scattered upon these hills that have been here untouched since the last ice age, when melting glaciers deposited them over twenty thousand years ago! Its surreal to think that the first Neolithic settlers in Ireland walked these very mountain paths & swam these very lakes & that virtually nothing whatsoever has changed since then to now other than the temperature….
