Description
Rosapenna, Downings, County Donegal, Ireland
Yesterday I set out across Donegal in search for a snow scene before it melted away. There was a large amount of snow that arrived with our recent storms especially on the mountain tops. Yet the rest of the landscape looked like a spring day. This gave me an idea to aim for this scene & hopefully capture two seasons in one photo. Muckish Mountain certainly wasn’t a “muckish” colour yesterday
This view was captured from Rosapenna dunes overlooking Sheephaven Bay, Ards Forest Park & Muckish Mountain in the extreme distance, which is exactly 10 miles away from this spot! I love how large telephoto(zoom) lenses draw the background much closer through a technique called ‘lens compression’, making everything larger & clearer.
