This view was captured from Rosapenna dunes overlooking Sheephaven Bay, Ards Forest Park & Muckish Mountain in the extreme distance, which is exactly 10 miles away from this spot! I love how large telephoto(zoom) lenses draw the background much closer through a technique called “lens compression”, making everything larger & clearer.
I have been visioning & attempting a photo of this picturesque old homestead by the shore for a very long time. Each time I attempted to capture it, there were either clouds over Muckish or too much haze/rain etc which ruined the scene I was hoping for. Ironically this one morning when driving past not expecting anything, all was perfectly clear! Not a second was spared until I finally captured this very photo. Another one off my photo tick list
