This stunning area of Malin Head is Ireland’s most northerly point. The next stop north from here is the Iceland! Created by tectonic activity over 400 million years ago, these metamorphic rocks still stand proudly battling erosion after all this time.
The stormy waves of the Atlantic have continually battered and shaped these ancient volcanic rocks into sharp jagged pillars over millions of years, creating a natural area of unique beauty that honestly needs to be witnessed to be fully appreciated.
This very location was used for the filming of a Star Wars movie. If you look onto the end of that rocky outcrop to the left, you will see where the Millennium Falcon spaceship was set
