Description
Trawalua Beach Dunes, Mullaghmore – Cliffony, County Sligo overlooking Slieve League Cliffs, Teelin, County Donegal, Ireland
This title may seem a little strange to those who know these areas, but I’ll explain. I normally capture photos of County Donegal or photos from County Sligo, however this scene is one photo showing landmarks from both counties.
This photo was captured from County Sligo overlooking the sand dunes of Trawalua Strand. Separated by Donegal Bay which leads to the magnificent Slieve League Cliffs on the distant horizon in County Donegal. What I find fascinating is that when I measured the distance from where I was standing during capture to the Slieve League, it’s exactly 18 miles away (as the crow flies)
This is a single image file and not a composite, artificial background etc. It was captured at 400mm by the ‘lens compression’ method I normally use. Basically, it means the further you zoom into a mid-range object, the larger and closer the background gets drawn forward. This makes everything in frame look much closer than it looks via the naked eye
