Brinlack & Inishsirrer Island, Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland
More stormy seas on the coast of Donegal. There are many places across our island to view these recent storms from but nowhere matches the Donegal coast in my book. The high vantage points along this coast make for some great ‘out to sea’ perspectives. I often capture photos of this stunning little cottage on my journeys around Gweedore,. What I wouldn’t give to be sitting inside it right now with a big turf fire & a wee drop of something strong to keep me warm ? listening to the storm winds whistling through that thatched roof ??

‘Inishsirrer’ is now a deserted island just under a mile off the north coast of Donegal along the Wild Atlantic Way. This small settlement of ‘Inishsirrer’ was once a thriving fishing community. Today this little island is sadly uninhabited. All that remains is this little ‘Ghost Town’ with its abandoned cottages, shops, dry stone walls & small harbour all echoing it’s once bustling past….
