Description

Between Ballymagorry, Strabane, County Tyrone Northern Ireland & Porthall, County Donegal, Ireland
The River Foyle flows between two beautiful counties. On the left is Donegal and to the right is Tyrone. As you can clearly see, both ends of this riverbank are equally as stunning as each other 😍 In the distance you can see Muckish & Errigal mountain. The small river to the right with the most fascinating bend ive yet seen elsewhere is called The River Dennett.
This river and the old ‘Strabane Canal’ alongside were once bustling waterways. Only 70 years ago these waters would have never ceased to ripple, by the amount of merchant barges and boats sailing both ways.
Times have certainly changed and moved forward by the modern advances in freight lorries, aeroplanes and internet deliveries. Nowadays calm mirrored reflections are a common sight on these silent riverbanks….. in my book this is wonderful as it’s how this river was for thousands of years prior and how it should now remain once again, the way nature intended 🙏
