Doolough, Erris, County Mayo, Ireland
Traveling through the ‘Doolough Valley’ (Doolough meaning ‘Black Lake’) is a surreal experience. Embedded in a mountainous landscape of unspoilt nature between Mweelrea Mountain and the Sheeffry Hills with two lakes on the east side, where the Wild Atlantic Way winds its way through this valley.
All this stunning scenery is beautiful to experience, however like many places across our island, ‘Doolough’ has a shadowed past. Through no fault of its stunning landscape but by that of man.…. However for this particular post im mainly focused on showing you the beauty of its landscape ☘️
I had visioned capturing the entire ‘Doolough Valley’ in one photo for some time & knew it would be a difficult one to get. After many flights & wrongly captured angles! I finally got the set of photos I required. They stitched together perfectly to create this one panoramic image to share with you today of the famous ‘Doolough Valley’
