A ’22° Solar Sun Halo’ is a phenomenon is caused by ice crystals in our upper atmosphere, reflecting light like a prism which creates a round rainbow around the sun ?
Yesterday morning there lay a blanket of icy mist on the surrounding landscape all around me. I had a vision of flying high above it to capture a few church spires etc peaking through. Unfortunately this fog bank was much too dense & barely anything could be seen through it. However, I instantly noticed this amazing rainbow ring around the bright morning sun. So I recomposed & captured my first ever aerial sun halo or scientifically a ‘22° Solar Sun Halo’
Sometimes & more often in photography, planed scenes don’t always pan out as visioned. Although if you look around you will notice there may be something even greater right in front of your eyes that may have otherwise been overlooked. There is no such thing as bad luck in Landscape photography ☘️ Nature is stunning regardless the conditions
