Description
Glen Head, Glencolmcille, County Donegal, Ireland
These enormous cliffs are like something pulled straight from a fairytale book. At their top is a Napoleonic lookout tower in the style of a medieval castle, facing over the abyss of the Atlantic ocean. In the backdrop you can see the magnificent ‘Sturral Ridge’ headland peeking out from the left. These cliffs are easily on par with ‘Slieve League’ or ‘Cliffs of Moher’ with the added bonus of true tranquillity, as unlike other tourist locations there’s barely anyone here at any giving time.
During the capture of this storm, I felt my photo was lacking foreground interest so decided to do something I rarely do in my photography….. to include a person or car etc into my scene for a little change ? I stood around for ages awaiting something of interest to drive or walk along this road & into my frame, although it didn’t happen.
Then my cousin ‘Shane Wray’ who was with me at the time had the idea, of him walking down this road acting as a model for me! We give it a whirl & finally got my photo! plus he is now one step closer to walking the catwalk as a professional model someday ? ?
