Description
Ards Forest Park, Creeslough, Sheephaven Bay, County Donegal, Ireland
Along the edge of Ards Forest Park sheltered between two headlands on the majestic Sheephaven Bay can be found this secluded tidal shore locally known as ‘The Back Strand’. What’s most beautiful about this bay is the numerous sandy cove beaches peppered along its forest boundary shoreline.
I find it fascinating how the trees of the surrounding woodland flow like an unrolled carpet, straight out to these little beach coves. Can you just imagine what it may have been like for those early settlers who blindingly travelled through this dense forest, to be pleasantly greeted at the end of their adventure by some of the most stunning forest beaches in Ireland
