Errigal Mountain, Dunlewey, Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland
Recent archaeological findings have finally proved that Donegal’s most iconic mountain is indeed a man-made pyramid built by the ancient Irish around 2500 BC. Comprising of over 3.5 million tons of quartz material which was carried in cow skin sacks on backs of 20 thousand men. It took over 50 years to complete! This new evidence has………. I got you there didn’t I! ??? Ok im only kidding but sometimes isn’t it great to look at a photograph & just let your imagination run wild?
This is what happened to me whilst capturing & editing this photo. I couldn’t stop thinking on Egyptian pyramids & my mind was drifting into little un-rational scenarios of “imagine if this mountain was actually man-made”. I guess the reason my mind drifted on this one is because I have actually visited the real ‘Great Pyramid of Cairo’ in Egypt before. Maybe that’s the reason why each time I look at this photo my thoughts striked a close resemblance to it, in shape & size etc.
Obviously ‘Errigal Mountain’ was created by the geological forces of nature, However! I still stand by my words, that there is no harm in letting your minds run wild at times when looking at a photo, painting or even whilst looking out through the window of a moving car etc ?
Everything around us nowadays is just too scientifically & historically correct…. Except for our harmless thoughts… It’s not childish, it’s called being imaginative ?
