Description
Koram Hill, Legfordrum, Strabane, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland
If you are a follower of my work, then this little cottage will be no stranger to you. It is located only a few miles from me & I consider it my “go to spot” as it is simply one of the most stunning little traditional cottages I know off. When I first started capturing this home around 10 years ago, there was a full roof & even the plaster/whitewash on the walls seemed in decent condition. However, each time I return to capture it, there seems to be another sheet of rusted tin missing from the roof & as you can see the cattle shed roof has half collapsed inside ?
Even in a decaying state this little cottage is still stunning although there is a certain pivot point where the beauty of decay leans over & slowly topples to a decaying ruin. I think this little cottage still has its charm although if the roof is not maintained shortly then all that will remain will sadly be a stone shell. I really hope someone will repair this roof as these old buildings are part of our history & need preserved. I believe anything beautiful should be preserved regardless of who owns it or its value. There is beauty in natures decay although there is a limit point where some human intervention is required.…..
