Description
The Rougey Cliff Walk, Bundoran, County Donegal, Ireland
Bundoran or as many know it by its nickname “Fundoran” has been the Irish version of a Spanish holiday resort or Vegas for my family and thousands more families over the past century at least. Loved by so many Bundoran has its own vibe about it which just seems different from any other beach resort in Donegal. What makes it more memorable is not necessarily staying in a fancy hotel, but instead staying in the good auld traditional mobile home caravan in which is almost symbolic to this historic beach town.
To the left can be seen Tullan Strand, The Great Northern Hotel & golf course in the centre, to the right is the diving boards rock, Bundoran Beach. In the background can be seen Bundoran town & west end with the Dartry mountains in the far distance.
There is a lot to see and enjoy in Bundoran such as stroll Bundoran Beach watching surfers then walk around this famous cliff walk called The Roguey, finally arriving at The Fairy Bridges rock formation overlooking the stunning Tullan Strand. Then strolling back into town for a cheeky pull of the “one armed bandit” slot machines followed by a stunning sunset over the Diving boards rock on the beach, before walking back to the caravan to listen to the wind glide across the tin roof like someone gently whistling you to sleep….. a pitter patter of rain makes it even more tranquil
For me these experiences are simply bliss and that’s why I love visiting our “Costa del Bundoran”
