Description
Captured from Ballyness Bay, Falcarragh overlooking Magheraroarty Sand Dunes with “Tory Island” in the far distance, County Donegal, Ireland
It’s not often I get the chance to use my new super zoom lens as I’m normally flying my drone or using wide angle lenses. This scene was set up & composed from “Ballyness Harbour” looking out to “Tory Island” I framed this stretch of sand dune in the centre of this image between me & Tory island
Within a short wait, this gentleman came strolling across the dune into my frame & a flock of sea birds also passed at just the exact time! I could hardly believe my luck as it felt like a one in a million chance because he was the only person on this bay for miles around at the time! If anyone knows this mystery gentleman, please tag him as I wish to post him a free print
This image was captured at a 750mm zoom enabling the perception of the background to be brought forward much closer (lens compression) for example in this scene the gentleman is actually 0.5 mile away & Tory Island is 8.5 miles away! This is the reason I love my super zoom lens as compositions like this are impossible any other way
