Today is May 4th which for sci-fi fans around the world is the official ‘Star Wars Day’. Today we celebrate George Lucas’s ‘Star Wars’ creation & franchise. #MayThe4thBeWithYou
Here is an image I captured during the filming of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ which was filmed in a Galaxy not too far away…. right here in County Donegal ? If you look onto the rocky outcrop below the sun, you will see the ‘Millennium Falcon’ spaceship set. To the right you can see all the storage tents used for equipment etc during filming.
Star Wars movie scenes shot in Donegal is such a claim to fame for Ireland. Im sure we will be telling our grandchildren about it, just as we do about other movies shot here such as ‘The Quiet Man’ or ‘Darby O’Gill’. In my humble opinion Hollywood couldn’t have sourced a better filming location for their newest Star Wars Movies! I believe more filming should be captured here as our scenery is breath-taking & would make any movie shine on the big screen with minimal effort from special effects ?
