Barnesmore Gap is Donegal’s most famous scenic road pass. It has connected the North & south of the county via both railway & road for century’s. This gap is actually the remains of an ice age glaciated valley. Giant glaciers slowly carved their way through the Croaghconnelagh & Croaghonagh mountains on each side over 10,000 years ago, leaving us today with one of the finest short-cuts in all Ireland
