Dunluce Castle, Bushmills, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, UK
This castle holds a sweet spot in my heart as it is one of the reasons I bought my first camera almost 2 years ago. I remember I was browsing through some images online and I came across an image similar to this one and it totally blew me away and left me mesmerised, within days I bought my first DSLR camera and set out to someday capture an amazing sunset scene at this magnificent castle.
So I’m hoping that Today this image lives up to my goal and hopefully it inspires somebody else out there to set out and start photography just as I done back then 🙂
Dunluce Castle is a now-ruined medieval castle in Northern Ireland. Parts of the castle date back to the 14th century, the first record of it is from 1513 when it belonged to the MacQuillans.
It is located on the edge of a basalt outcropping in County Antrim (between Portballintrae and Portrush), and is accessible via a bridge connecting it to the mainland. The castle is surrounded by extremely steep drops on either side, which may have been an important factor to the early Christians and Vikings who were drawn to this place where an early Irish fort once stood
