Description

Doolin Cliffs, County Clare, Ireland

The Cliffs of Moher are Ireland’s most visited natural attraction with over 1.5 million tourists visiting each year. Located on the Wild Atlantic Way just south of Doolin & west of the Burren. These cliffs ascend over 210 meters & stretch southwards for 8km to Hags Head.

In the backdrop can be seen O’Brien’s Tower which was built in 1835 by Cornelius O’Brien, a descendant of Brian Boru the High King of Ireland. Cornelius was the local landowner and was a man ahead of his time, believing that the development of tourism would benefit the local economy & bring the people out of poverty.
