Description
Recently I’ve been in the form to try a few different methods of photography to hopefully add some fresh interest to my portfolio of imagery. This photo was captured by a method called ‘long exposure’. I rarely use glass filters during capture of my photos even though I have owned a Stop 10 ND filter for 3 years now & never used it once! A few days ago, I travelled to the Peace Bridge in hope of a colourful sunset.
On arrival the water was very fast flowing & there was no wind so I thought it a perfect time to screw on the Stop 10 filter to smooth out the water’s surface & finally get some value from my past investment. This is my outcome, it is a 7 minute long exposure which smoothed out the water & clouds whilst enhancing the sunset tones throughout to a violet colour cast. I hope it appeals to your taste
The Peace Bridge (Foyle) is a cycle and footbridge bridge across the River Foyle in Derry City. It opened on June 2011 connecting Ebrington Square with the rest of the city centre. The bridge is intended to improve relations between the largely unionist ‘Waterside’ with the largely nationalist ‘Cityside’ by improving access between these areas as part of wider regeneration plans.
