Description
Ardara – Glencolmcille, County Donegal, Ireland
From Glencolumbkille a road heads inland towards Ardara, through the wild and picturesque Glengesh Pass where the road meanders through sloping mountainous terrain. Glengesh pass (Glen of the Swans) is one of two glaciated valleys that sculpture the northern edge of the Banagh peninsula. The glen carries the road between Ardara and Carrick over Glengesh Pass via a couple of hairpin bends exquisitely framed between the steep sided Glengesh and Mulmosog mountains.
I often visit here yet never tire of this view or the unique landscape surrounding this area. This time I managed to get an aerial view to really show this magnificent road with its famous hairpin bends that spiral downwards to the valley floor
