Carrickfinn Beach lies along the shore of Gweedore Bay. It is one of the most stunning beaches to be found anywhere in Ireland. With white sands stretching as far as the eye can see & turquoise coloured waters to rival that found on any paradise island. In the background can be seen the Derryveagh Mountains range with Errigal Mountain standing to the right with her head stuck in the clouds again! lol
I have a little shock fact for you about this photo…. If you look at that long grassy bank running alongside the beach you may just about see it. On this narrow stretch of sand dune, surrounded by water is an actual airport runway! Yes its ‘Donegal Airport‘ which recently was voted 2nd place for having “The most scenic landing strip in the world” In my humble opinion it should have came 1st place
