Description
Errigal Mountain, Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland
When out and about capturing my scenes I sometimes strike it lucky. However this kinda luck only happens to me once in a lifetime! I was casually standing on a sand dune on the Donegal shore with my camera on tripod and locked onto this scene with my zoom lens attached. I was aligning up these two cows with Errigal Mountain in the backdrop, which is a staggering 15km away from where I stood.
I heard a distant plane approaching. Suddenly this large Aer Lingus aeroplane starts descending slowly towards me. It crossed my mind “I hope it flies into my set frame” but I never believed it would actually happen… then this happened! The plane flew straight in front of my composed scene & I captured this photo It proceeded to land at Donegal Airport in nearby Carrickfinn.
Since capturing this photograph the Captain of this very flight Pilot Patrick Khan has contacted me admiring it, which I think is amazing as it adds even more to my very lucky moment in Donegal
