Description
The Cliffs of Glencolmcille, County Donegal, Ireland
These enormous cliffs on this headland are like something pulled straight from a fairytale book. On top of this cliff face is a Napoleonic lookout tower in the style of a medieval castle, facing over the abyss of the Atlantic Ocean. In the backdrop you can see the “Sturrall Ridge” headland peeking out.
These cliffs are easily on par with “Slieve League” or “Cliffs of Moher” with the added bonus of true tranquillity, unlike other tourist locations there are honestly barely anyone here at any time. I actually had to stand around here for a good half hour awaiting something of interest to drive or walk into my frame. I was expecting a sheep but to my surprise this farmer drives up the road on his quad bike & I quickly pressed the capture button on my camera! If you look closely behind the farmer, you may notice his trusty sheep dog sitting proudly on the speeding 4×4 quad enjoying the wind through his hair
