This was the most unexpected & memorable sunrise I’ve ever witnessed. Lady luck was certainly on my side this particular morning. I remember looked out from my motor home window at 6.15 am and seeing this sun rising from behind the historic Dunguaire Castle, whilst casting its warm golden light across the entire Galway Bay. Wasting not a single second I grabbed my camera gear & stumbled out the door. Still half asleep in my pyjamas with no shoes I ran onto the pier to capture this image before this magical light defused. I always think on the lyrics of this wee song when I look at this photo
“If you ever go across the sea to Ireland,
Then maybe at the closing of your day,
