Description
Killultan, Dunkineely, County Donegal, Ireland
St John’s Point lighthouse is found on one of the most picturesque landscapes in Ireland. Located on the very end of this long narrow stretch of land, which reaches over 6 miles out to sea from the mainland. Once there you are surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on all three sides. This makes St John’s Point an excellent spot for sea fishing. Whale & other marine animal watching is also very popular here.
I love that from this perspective you can look back towards the mainland and see this windy narrow length of grassy landscape stretch for miles, it really shows how isolated and far out to sea this place is. You can also see the old WW2 airplane ‘Eire’ Marker stamped on the end of this raised ancient seabed ![]()
