Description
Boyeeghter Bay or Murder Hole Beach, Melmore Head, County Donegal, Ireland
Please don’t be put off by its unpleasing nickname “The MurderHole” because this beach is a true Irish gem. There are no paths, road nor signs and it requires a long hike through a grassy plain full of cattle, then over some large sand dunes to even reach. This has to be one of the most stunningly beautiful beaches you could ever set eyes on! It may have the most uninviting name you’ve ever heard off, but always remember “you should never judge a book by its cover”
As for its morbid nickname, I’ve asked countless people on why it has gained this name ‘The Murder Hole’ & have heard so many different tales ranging from World War 2 soldiers to The Great Famine to even a Murder Mystery hundreds of years old! I honestly still have no factual answers so if you have any information??? Please feel free to add it below as I’m sure many folk around the globe would love to read about it ?
