Description
Rosguill Peninsula, Downings, County Donegal, Ireland
This tranquil bay ‘Tra na Rossan‘ differs from many other beaches, due to it being seated between these giant rocky hills on either side. On the slopes of these hills grow lush green fern, wildflowers & purple bloom heather. Like many beaches dotted along this peninsula of Rosguill, it’s waters shimmer the most stunning shades of emerald & turquoise imaginable ?
If you zoom in & look along this sandy cove you may see a few folk simply gazing into this sunset. This is something I notice more so on ‘Tra Na Rossan‘ than on other beaches I’ve walked. Maybe it’s just coincidence but on every visit, people seem to be statue like, sitting on the dunes or standing on the water’s edge. They all seem to be in a trance looking outwards into the sun. As soon as it sets all returns to normal in an instant & they snap out of their little trances & rush back to their cars to beat the Atlantic chill that follows….. Maybe I’m overthinking again but that’s how I observe it on this beach ⛱
