Last night the crescent moon & planets Jupiter and Venus were in very close conjunction with each other for a few hours. Jupiter can be seen above the moon & Venus can be seen to the right.
You can even see some ‘Earthshine’ on the actual moon’s surface itself! this is when the sun’s rays reflect off our earth then strike and illuminate the moons shadowed darker areas, making the entire surface barely visible to the naked eye.
This rare alignment of the cosmos gave me an opportunity to try some Astro photography again for a change. There’s nothing quite like sitting under the silent night sky, breathing crisp air & gazing into our vast universe…. wondering all
